Blommer Chocolate Company Job Opportunity

Blommer has been providing delicious, high-quality chocolate and cocoa products to customers since 1939. Built as a family business, we are continuing to grow and are looking for motivated and reliable associates to help in our mission of Bringing Chocolate to Life!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide translation from English to Japanese (and vice versa) to support the company's CEO, COO and broader Global & General Affairs (GGA) needs, ensuring effective communication with senior leaders, customers, expats, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide calendar management for the CEO and COO for internal and external meetings, travel, and company events.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for meetings and conferences, including flights, hotels, transportation, and expense reports.
  • Review and prioritize written communications directed to the CEO, COO, and other members of the Executive Team, exercising sound judgment to resolve general matters.
  • Prepare incoming and outgoing correspondence as requested, assist in answering and delegating matters for response follow-up, and/or direct as appropriate.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of materials and reports for both internal and external meetings.
  • Process expense reimbursements, invoices, and other internal reporting requirements in a timely manner.
  • Manage confidential matters with the highest degree of discretion and professionalism.
  • Serve as a back-up for the Office Manager as needed.
  • Operate within the core values of respect and care for others.

Physical Requirements: General office environment, prolonged periods of sitting, using computer

Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements: Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct

Skills and Work Experience Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written Japanese translation skills and ability to effectively translate written communications into English
  • Minimum five years of executive office assistant experience
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at our Chicago, IL office
  • Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to interact with leaders, staff, visitors and vendors with a highly professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and work additional hours as needed.

Education: Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred

Salary Range: $55K-$70K
