High’s of Baltimore is seeking an experienced, hands-on District Manager “DM” to lead multiple convenience retail locations throughout Maryland & Delaware. This is an opportunity for a proven results-driven leader with extensive regional operations oversight experience and a strong track record of developing high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, improving profitability, and creating a culture of accountability and customer-focused execution.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead multiple retail convenience store locations within an assigned district
  • Ensure excellence in customer service, food quality, merchandising, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Drive operational consistency and execution across all stores
  • Monitor store conditions, standards, and overall performance
  • Analyze trends, identify opportunities, and implement action plans to improve results
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures

Team Development & Leadership

  • Train and mentor Store Managers and store teams
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Lead by example through visible, hands-on leadership
  • Address employee relations issues professionally in partnership with Human Resources
  • Motivate and develop future leaders within the organization

Financial & Business Management

  • Manage sales, profitability, payroll, and operating expenses
  • Review and influence district P&L performance
  • Oversee inventory controls, loss prevention, and shrink reduction initiatives
  • Execute merchandising and marketing programs effectively
  • Monitor market competition, including fuel and inside sales trends

Customer Experience

  • Ensure every store delivers a clean, safe, welcoming environment
  • Respond to customer concerns and escalations professionally
  • Foster a customer-first culture throughout the district
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal teams

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience supervising teams in:
    • Convenience stores
    • Multi-unit retail
    • Fast food or restaurant operations
  • Experience managing food service operations
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with budgeting, staffing, and operational execution
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as business needs require
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a retail environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or related field
  • Convenience store multi-unit management experience
  • ServSafe Certification and/or Certified Food Handler credentials
  • Experience managing high-volume retail operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
