Description:

Earn $28.60 - $33.66 per hour plus excellent benefits as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with Weyerhaeuser in Elkin, NC! Benefits include paid vacation, a 401K plan, life insurance options as well as medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility.

Key Functions:

  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment using knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, welding and other related maintenance skills.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues throughout facility.
  • Minimize downtime through completion of preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Work with engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents and verbal instructions needed to perform assigned duties.
  • Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform various job roles within the maintenance department as assigned.
  • Often work must be conducted from heights or within confined spaces.
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and emergency call-ins as needed. Shift work may be required.

  • Willingness and ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which include
    • working at heights,
    • climbing stairs and navigating catwalks,
    • stooping and bending,
    • occasionally exerting more than 100 pounds of force, and/or frequently exerting more than 50 pounds force
    • working in an environment containing wood dust and extreme heat or cold.
  • Ability and willingness to wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred:

  • Degree from a vocational or technical school

  • Electrical troubleshooting or repair experience
  • Industrial maintenance experience

Training Opportunity:

If you don't have prior maintenance experience, we'll invest in your development through a structured apprenticeship program during your first four years in the position.

Post Application Requirements:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment computer-based testing
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
