Manager, Mulesoft Development & Data Integration
Chicago, IL - onsite 1-2 days/week, work from home 3-4 days/week
Essential Job Functions
This position is a hands-on leadership position, where you'll be responsible for technical oversight and delivery of our Mulesoft platform, that is very new to our organization - as well as enterprise data integration.
You'll have 3 direct reports onshore, and then will also be managing a team of consultants offshore in India.
We are a Microsoft shop that has recently made a big push from on-prem to Azure. As such, you'll primarily be working with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for our enterprise data warehouse.
You'll interface with key business stakeholders to ensure business value is being driven through application and data integrations you're overseeing. In addition to implementing processes and procedures to ensure optimal project planning, delivery and operations.
What you'll be doing
  • Provides leadership and ongoing management of the IT Integration COE team. Ensures staff, skills and other resource needs are in place to support full SDLC and operations of enterprise integration technology. Manages vendors for to enterprise integration services and products.
  • Accountable for the defining and ongoing ownership of enterprise integration protocols organized via COE process/procedure/SDLC for supporting integration needs; includes project intake, estimation, design/coding/deployment standards and maintaining technology stack.
  • Collaborates with senior IT and business leaders to ensure that ongoing enterprise integration capabilities are aligned with the organization's annual and strategic goals.
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture on maintaining integration reference architecture, standards, and guidelines to ensure enterprise fit, security, compliance, etc.
  • Responsible for enterprise integration platform operations and ongoing definition and measurement of SLA's, KPI's and other operational objectives are met.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for data integration team to with other project teams for delivery of application integration project needs through defined processes and standards; provides ongoing adjustments of process and standards as need to meeting changing needs.
  • Guides team for continual work with Enterprise Architecture team to define/refine the data integration design/coding/deployment/operational standards and technology stack.
  • Regularly communicates integration technology target state, roadmap and development progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Skills we're seeking
  • 10+ years of experience in IT
  • 2+ years of experience managing direct reports and/or leading project teams
  • Must have experience leading SDLC processes
  • Must have strong MuleSoft engineering experience. If you haven't been hands on recently, that's okay. But we need a MuleSoft SME to lead this function in our organization.
  • Must have strong experience with API development and data integration
  • Must have experience working with cloud-based data warehouses
  • Must have experience with vendor management

Nice to haves
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, or other Azure data services
  • Experience with .NET and/or C# Development
  • Experience managing offshore teams, ideally in India
  • MuleSoft certifications are a big plus
  • Azure certifications are also a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an IT related field
