Job DetailsJob Location: MTC-Philadelphia - Philadelphia, PA 19131Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimeEducation Level: High SchoolJob Shift: VariedJob Category: Health CareMalvern Treatment Centers is currently seeking full time Safety Technician to work at our Malvern Treatment Center facility in Philadelphia. The location of our Malvern Treatment Centers - Philadelphia is currently located in South Philadelphia but we will be relocating to 3905 W. Ford Road - Philadelphia, PA 19131 in May 2025.

The Safety Technician position is a full time opportunity with openings available during the week with an every other weekend commitment. The Safety Technician position does offer full-time benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance plus accrued time off.    

The mission of the Safety Technician is to maintain safety and the security of our Drug and Alcohol Treatment campus. Helps maintain a safe and healthy work environment by identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace hazards. Works collaboratively with other teams and departments to ensure a safe working environment.  He or she must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to provide these services to clients, visitors and family members with chemical dependencies.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma but we would prefer the candidate to have a Bachelors degree. It would also be preferred for the Safety Tech candidate to have previous security experience preferably in a Healthcare setting. 

Summary of Essential Position Functions:

Manages calls to the site and directs them appropriately Greets patients and visitors as they arrive and helps facilitate communication to appropriate parties to ensure proper patient/visitor flow Conducts wanding for contraband for patient entering the building  Liaison between facility and interactions with community/emergency services Collects and copies patient insurance and identification cards, assists patients with completion of initial admitting paperwork including insurance forms Acts as a liaison between front desk and unit for patient admitting to unit Promotes the safety and well-being of all patients Performs environmental rounding and monitoring for contraband on facility grounds Receives patient drop offs from their support systems  Monitors fire panel and assist with the calling of overhead codes Competent in verbal de-escalation  Accurately communicates with team and supervisor any patient issues that arise during shift Maintains confidentiality of the site, specifically related to patient identification and documentation. Interacts with co-workers in a helpful manner which contributes to high morale.

QualificationsQualifications: Additional training on safety and security required and/or will be provided. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  This position requires individuals that are client focused; team oriented; great interpersonal and communication skills; flexible to sudden changes in workload, emergency or staffing; dependable; problem solving skills; focused on compliance and performance quality. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting preferred. Previous experience as a security guard also preferred. Technical/Computer Skills:  Microsoft office proficient. Protected from weather conditions.           Physical Requirements: Most be able to ambulate around campus. 50% walking. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. maximum.
