IT Help Desk Support Specialist I On-Site

Location: Fort Collins, CO
Type: Contract with possible conversion to FTE (3 months - 6months)

Schedule: Monday Friday, onsite. 7:00 AM 3:00 PM preferred, 8am - 5pm also considered.

Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Help Desk Support Specialist I to provide hands-on, on-site technical support to employees. This role will partner with a managed service provider (MSP) that handles primarily remote support, while this position focuses on issues requiring an in-person presence.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, dependable and comfortable troubleshooting hardware, supporting devices and managing day-to-day IT needs in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site help desk and desktop support for hardware, peripherals, printers, docking stations and connectivity issues.
  • Image, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors and other IT equipment.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup, recovery and asset tracking.
  • Provide basic support for Microsoft Intune and Jamf following established procedures.
  • Support conference rooms, A/V equipment and shared office technology.
  • Manage IT equipment inventory, including asset assignments, repairs, warranties and shipping.
  • Partner with the MSP on escalated issues, providing on-site troubleshooting and follow-through.
  • Document and track support requests in the ticketing/ITSM system.
  • Create and maintain basic user documentation and knowledge articles.
  • Provide a professional, responsive customer experience to employees at all levels.
Qualifications
  • 1 3 years of experience in help desk, desktop support or similar technical support.
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS in a business environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams and OneDrive.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills, including Wi-Fi, VPN and connectivity.
  • Experience using a ticketing or ITSM system.
  • Strong communication, organization and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize requests and follow through to resolution.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 40 lbs.

Preferred: CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or experience with Intune, Jamf, Entra ID, Okta or an outsourced MSP.
