Job description

Inizio Engage Canada est a la recherche d'un(e) MSL (Medical Science Liaison) pour se concentrer sur un produit du systeme nerveux central. Cette personne sera un membre cle de l'equipe des affaires medicales terrain du client. Ce poste sera le principal communicateur de la science des produits du client et sera responsable de l'execution du plan national des affaires medicales dans un territoire defini. Le/la MSL fournira egalement, au besoin, du soutien pour d'autres programmes en developpement.

En tant que membre essentiel de l'equipe des affaires medicales, les MSL soutiennent l'entreprise, ses produits et les aires therapeutiques pertinentes en renforcant des relations scientifiques et collaboratives, et en facilitant un echange scientifique opportun avec des leaders d'opinion cles (KOL), des professionnels de la sante (HCP), des investigateurs, des payeurs, des comites de formulaires et d'autres parties prenantes similaires.

Responsabilites du poste
  • Identifier de maniere systematique, developper et gerer des relations avec les professionnels de la sante (HCP) et les leaders d'opinion cles (KOL) afin d'accroitre la visibilite de la mission de l'entreprise et de soutenir l'utilisation appropriee des therapies dans les troubles du systeme nerveux central (incluant la migraine et la medecine du sommeil).

  • Diriger les efforts pour reconnaitre, developper et maintenir les relations avec les KOL a differents niveaux d'engagement, en identifiant des occasions d'echanges scientifiques, de generation de donnees medicales et d'amelioration de la reputation de l'entreprise.

  • Fournir des informations scientifiques et cliniques justes, equilibrees et precises aux parties prenantes internes et externes (HCP, KOL, societes medicales, payeurs et comites de formulaires), incluant la realisation de presentations formelles sur demande.

  • Agir comme ressource scientifique en acquerant et en maintenant une expertise approfondie dans les aires therapeutiques du SNC (p. ex. migraine, medecine du sommeil) et en restant a jour sur les donnees cliniques, les tendances du marche mondial/regional et les connaissances produits.

  • Recueillir, analyser et communiquer des informations medicales exploitables issues des interactions entre pairs avec les HCP afin d'eclairer la strategie medicale et soutenir les objectifs cliniques et commerciaux.

  • Etudier et comprendre le paysage medical afin de contribuer a la mise en uvre de plans medicaux comblant les lacunes scientifiques, en collaboration avec la direction medicale.

  • Identifier, analyser et traduire les besoins specifiques du territoire en strategies appuyant les objectifs cliniques, scientifiques et commerciaux.

  • Collaborer de maniere interfonctionnelle avec les partenaires internes afin de faire progresser les objectifs medicaux, cliniques et commerciaux.

  • Soutenir les essais cliniques commandites par l'entreprise et contribuer a l'evaluation et a la gestion de projets de recherche inities par des investigateurs, au besoin.

  • Participer aux congres et reunions scientifiques en representant l'organisation; interagir avec les leaders d'opinion et partager les informations cles a l'interne.

  • Fournir des informations pertinentes en economie de la sante et resultats cliniques aux parties prenantes concernees, y compris les payeurs et les HCP.

  • Contribuer a la croissance et au developpement de l'equipe medicale terrain / nationale.

  • Assumer les responsabilites operationnelles, incluant la documentation des activites terrain, le rapport des informations medicales, la reponse aux demandes d'information medicale, la gestion des depenses et la completion des formations requises.

Formation et expertise scientifique
  • Diplome scientifique de niveau avance requis (Pharm. D., Ph. D., M.D. ou equivalent)

  • Expertise solide en SNC/neurosciences fortement preferee

  • Maitrise professionnelle complete de l'anglais et du francais (oral et ecrit)

  • Minimum de 3 ans d'experience en milieu clinique et/ou dans l'industrie pharmaceutique dans un ou plusieurs des domaines suivants :

    • Medecine du sommeil

    • Psychiatrie

    • Neurologie

  • Experience prealable en role medical sur le terrain requise

  • Experience en tant que MSL, conseiller medical ou role similaire dans l'industrie pharmaceutique canadienne requise

  • Experience avec les payeurs, les organismes d'evaluation des technologies de la sante (ETS/HTA) ou les comites de formulaires est un atout

Inizio Engage Canada is seeking an MSL to focus on a Central Nervous System product and they will be a key member of the client's Field Medical Affairs team. This position will be the primary communicator of the science of the clients' products and will be responsible for executing the national medical affairs plan within a specified territory. The MSL will also provide as needed support for other pipeline programs.

As an integral member of the Medical Affairs team, MSLs support the company, its products and relevant therapeutic areas by advancing scientific and collaborative relationships and acting as a conduit for timely scientific exchange with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), investigators, payors, formulary committees, and similar entities

Contract: 12-month contract with possibility of extension
Location: Montreal and surrounding area

Job Responsibilities

  • Systematically identify, develop, and manage relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to raise awareness of the company's mission and support the appropriate use of therapies in CNS disorders (including migraine and sleep medicine).

  • Lead efforts to recognize, cultivate, and maintain KOL relationships across a continuum of advocacy, identifying opportunities for scientific exchange, medical evidence generation, and enhanced company reputation.

  • Provide fair, balanced, and accurate scientific and clinical information to internal stakeholders and external audiences (HCPs, KOLs, medical societies, payers, and formulary committees), including delivering formal presentations upon request.

  • Serve as a scientific resource by acquiring and maintaining deep expertise in CNS therapeutic areas (e.g., migraine, sleep medicine) and staying current on clinical data, global/regional market trends, and product knowledge.

  • Gather, analyze, and communicate actionable medical insights from peer-to-peer interactions with HCPs to inform medical strategy and support clinical and business objectives.

  • Investigate and understand the medical landscape to help implement medical plans that address scientific gaps, in collaboration with medical leadership.

  • Identify, analyze, and translate territory-specific needs into strategies that support clinical, scientific, and business objectives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners to advance medical, clinical, and business goals.

  • Support company-sponsored clinical trials and assist in the review and navigation of investigator-initiated research proposals when needed.

  • Attend and represent the organization at scientific meetings and congresses; engage with thought leaders and share key insights internally.

  • Deliver relevant health economic and outcomes information to appropriate stakeholders, including payers and HCPs.

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Field Medical / National Medical Team.

  • Execute operational responsibilities, including documentation of field activities, medical insights reporting, responding to medical information requests, expense reporting, and completing required trainings.

Education and Scientific Expertise

  • Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent)

  • Strong expertise in CNS/neuroscience is highly preferred

  • Full professional fluency in English and French (spoken and written)

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in one or more of the following areas:

(Sleep medicine, Psychiatry, Neurology).

  • Prior field-based medical experience is required

  • Experience as a Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor, or in a similar role within the Canadian pharmaceutical industry is required

  • Experience engaging with payers, health technology assessment (HTA) bodies, or formulary committees is considered an asset
