Job description

Position Summary: Functions essentially as a personal assistant to the physician; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver quality, efficient patient care. Responsible for documenting accurate and detailed information of patient visits. Provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage the volume of work without compromising quality.

ย Responsibilities:

  1. Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.
  2. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
  3. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  4. Document any procedures performed by the physician.
  5. Enter all data into the EHR. Assist the physician with navigating the EHR.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of previous related medical office/scribe experience.

Preferred:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Scribe Certification (CMS or MSCE)
