Director/Senior Director/VP, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK/Clin Pharm)

Company Overview:
CORE Biomedicine Inc. is a pioneering biotech startup dedicated to advancing novel therapies in oncology. We specialize in the development of small molecule drugs targeting novel pathways for the treatment of various cancers.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual, with strong multitasking skills to support our ongoing drug discovery and development programs. The person will lead PK/ADME/Clin Pharm for the various CORE oncology programs at various stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our internal/external teams (CROs) to support various PK/ADME needs for discovery programs, including:
    • Design suitable PK studies for ongoing discovery programs to advance from Hit-to-lead and lead optimization
    • Decipher ADME and metabolism profile to help medicinal chemistry to design and advance ongoing programs at various stages
    • Help to characterize lead candidates with preferred PK/ADME profile based on their chemical and pharmacology properties
    • Use various animal PK/PD data and modeling, to project potential clinical dose range and translational strategy
  • Collaborate closely with medicinal chemistry, biology, pharmacology and toxicology for IND enabling studies and regulatory submissions
  • Work with our teams, especially our clinical team, for various clinical needs
  • Maintain high standards of data quality, documentation, and scientific rigor

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or MSc with 5+ years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience
  • Strong foundation in DMPK, ADME, and pharmacokinetics for small-molecule drug discovery, development and clinical
  • Experience designing and interpreting in vivo PK/ADME studies, as well drug metabolism profile
  • Familiarity with PK/PD modeling tools (e.g., Phoenix, MATLAB, R) is a plus
  • Experience working with CROs and managing outsourced studies
  • Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative startup environment
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to take ownership of projects
