Job description

itD is seeking a Bio Compatibility Project Manager to lead biocompatibility planning and analytical testing efforts throughout the product development lifecycle for consumer electronics products. This role will partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive material selection, coordinate testing activities, and ensure biocompatibility requirements are met while supporting successful product launches. The ideal candidate will bring experience in program management, consumer electronics, and scientific or engineering disciplines, with a proven track record of managing multiple complex projects in fast-paced environments.

Location: Remote (No onsite requirement)

Duration: 9 months with potential extension

Responsibilities

  • Lead biocompatibility activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring projects meet quality and timeline requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers to drive the selection of biocompatible materials and coordinate testing activities.
  • Manage analytical testing programs, including sample coordination, test scheduling, and result tracking.
  • Communicate biocompatibility objectives, testing outcomes, and risk assessments clearly to project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain processes for tracking analytical testing results and biocompatibility assessments to improve project visibility and execution.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to establish workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for biocompatibility programs.
  • Prioritize multiple projects, identify risks, and drive issue resolution to meet aggressive product development timelines.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of project management experience in a corporate environment.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with strong prioritization skills.
  • Consumer electronics industry experience.
  • Experience supporting biocompatibility programs and customer safety initiatives.
  • Basic understanding of analytical testing methodologies, including HPLC, ICP-MS, LC/MS, and GC/MS.
  • Knowledge of biocompatibility review processes.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project tracking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience developing product development processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Understanding of product development stage gates and program development checkpoints.
  • Experience establishing analytical testing tracking and reporting processes.
  • Advanced project management experience within consumer hardware or related industries.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline required.
