Job Title: MRI Technologist (Outpatient Imaging)

Location: Newnan, GA
Start Date: August 26, 2025
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
On-Call: Rotating (~every 3 weeks)
Schedule Type: 5x8-Hour Day Shifts
Setting: Fast-paced outpatient imaging department


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join a dynamic outpatient imaging team in Newnan, GA. This is a full-time contract position in a modern imaging department equipped with a Siemens 3T Magnet and a GE 1.5T Magnet. The facility handles approximately 30 studies per day across two scanners, each staffed by two technologists. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative and patient-focused environment, specializing in oncology imaging for adult and geriatric populations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of MRI procedures independently, including abdomen, pelvis, brain, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging.
  • Operate Siemens and GE MRI scanners.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media safely.
  • Utilize Epic EMR and PACS systems for documentation and image management.
  • Apply radiation safety standards and isolation precautions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Radiology, IV Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Interpretation Services.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule (~every 3 weeks).
  • Follow SBAR communication protocols and maintain a professional work environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent MRI technologist experience (5 years preferred).
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
    • ARRT MR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) – Required
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology program.
  • Licensure: Must hold current ARRT registration in MR.

  • Familiarity with isolation precautions and oncology care
  • Use of surface coils and advanced post-processing techniques

Work Environment:
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (primarily oncology)
  • Daily Volume: ~30 studies
  • Support: IV teams, rapid response, interpretation, and respiratory services
