Job Description
Provides direct care in Occupational Therapy and performs other related duties to providing care to students within a school setting. Identifies, diagnoses, and treats students with a wide variety of disabilities. Participates in program planning, development and implementation. Participates in Quality Improvement. Counsels and instructs students/families, school professionals and medical professionals involved with the student's rehabilitative needs, monitors student progress, ensures that recommendations are followed. Maintains records according to established procedures.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license with the State of Wisconsin. Current NBCOT license. Temporary licensure will be accepted for new graduates waiting to take the NBCOT exam. Temporary licensure requires monthly consultation under a licensed OTR. Employee must pass NBCOT exam within one year of hire or expiration of temporary license, whichever is sooner.
  • Bachelor's Degree or greater in Occupational Therapy
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers throughAmerican Heart or American Red Cross is recommended but not required.
  • One year clinical experience in the pediatric field of Occupational Therapy preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles of pediatric and adolescent growth and development.
  • Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and minimum liability insurance coverage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills to effectively communicate with student, family and school professional staff in a team environment.
  • The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.

Salary: Starting annual salary $55,000 and up based on experience.
