Job Description:

The Manager, Material Management will manage and support MRPs that are the point-of-contact between the Operations and Production Teams, Functional Management, the Customer, Material Program Managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts to ensure successful resolutions of program issues. This position will lead, direct, and review the work the team.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage the material requirements and MRP team. Assists in providing comprehensive business analysis of program material requirements and manage impact to program requirements for all material related actions.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Office and Functional PM Management, as well as other stakeholders, to define and assign task requirements; estimate and establish budget and schedules; determine appropriate performance metrics; clarify priorities; and develop and implement specific management plans to support the program.
  • Interact with Engineering / Engineering design reviews, Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing personnel to ensure appropriate drawings are released and program schedules are achieved.
  • Provide proposal support to include estimating the scope of MRP labor and material efforts.
  • Assists in reviewing proposals & Statements of Work (SOW) to establish status metrics and reporting methods that assists with Make buy decisions, follows up on open purchase orders, verifies delivery, participates in resolving supplier issues, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
  • Utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance to objectives (including budget, schedule, and other management requirements), and facilitate project coordination and decision-making.
  • Lead/participate in Integrated Product Teams to assure successful program execution and drive non-value-added costs out of the program.
  • Manages a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation. Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short-term operational plans (e.g. less than 1 year). Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results. Typically does not have budget or Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 6 months in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Experience with SAP and/or Solumina.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Tactical Leadership Experience.
  • GPD and WBS mapping.
  • Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
