Job description

Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller

Responsible for supporting efficient production operations by coordinating optimal delivery of purchased items. This includes analysis of sales orders and coordinating delivery of supporting purchased components from vendors and finished goods to customers. Communicates promptly with customers and internal team regarding delivery issues while developing a positive working relationship. Works to resolve problems with effective solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Support current EDI requirements with all customers and assure 100% ASN accuracy.
  2. Ensure customer orders are entered in the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.
  3. Assist in attaining and maintaining zero PPM’s on missed shipments to all customers and maintains department delivery performance.
  4. Evaluate most efficient shipment method to comply with customer delivery dates (Finished goods) and with internal production needs (Raw Material). In case of expedites, analyze root cause and define accountability from responsible party (BorgWarner, Supplier, Customer)
  5. Create and manage chargebacks to customers/suppliers as required
  6. Maintain effective and positive customer service relations.
  7. Be an integral and proactive team member of the production line by the following:
    • a) Providing information about schedule changes and part shortages
    • b) Communicating customer needs in forecast and firmed requirements
    • c) Evaluating current and future capacity versus requirements and providing recommendations about effective use of resources in the line
    • d) Understand and establish ERP planning parameters to run production lines in the most efficient way
  8. Works directly with suppliers to ensure materials are available on-time to support production orders while ensuring there are no changes to schedules within lead time firm fence without first seeking approval from the supplier.
  9. Accountability over inventory turns for the production lines assigned; analyze opportunities for improvement and implement projects to achieve company goals
  10. Prepares system for Shipping to prepare customer deliveries in the most efficient manner. Advises Shipping of any requirements outside of the system.
  11. Actively participates in CI projects and events, demonstrating a mindset for process improvement
  12. Use of required PPE; following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct.
  13. Attendance at safety and health training sessions.
  14. Housekeeping practice.
  15. Perform other duties in support of Production Services as directed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field or substitutable experience.
  • APICS Certified in Production Planning/Inventory Control is preferred.
  • Two years related experience. A manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Periodic travel may be required.
