Job description

Job Summary

Manages the ordering and scheduling of MRO supplies (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations supplies). Responsible for the proper planning and control of spare parts inventory which includes determining essential spare parts to stock and manage inventory volume based on consumption and production needs. Fulfill customer requirements at the lowest total delivered cost while maintaining optimal inventory levels. May also include leading refurbishment activities through the Refurb Coordinator duties and supporting the management of inventory health. This role does not handle raw materials or bulk process chemicals for manufacturing, waste water treatment, Utilities or machine clothing, etc


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs daily MRP controlling duties (replenishment of Safety Stock and the ordering of other parts and supplies to meet demand)
  • Communicate delivery date revisions
  • Expedite parts for breakdowns
  • Emergency stock transfers to/from other mills
  • Ensure orders are scheduled to arrive in time for shutdowns
  • Manage inventory levels using Inventory Health processes, tools & metrics
  • Maintain appropriate stocking levels of critical parts
  • Review material shortage reports
  • Material Mater Data maintenance (new material creation, material changes, etc.)
  • Assist team with inventory cycle counting
  • Supports:
  • Leading refurbishment activities through the Refurb Coordinator duties and supporting the management of inventory health
  • Management of interim bins in the SAP system
  • Support the continuous analyze the disposition process of obsolete/surplus material and recommend changes to support facility objectives.
  • Management of write-offs, obsolete parts, and scrapping
  • Problem solves during urgent machine down situations by creatively finding solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Resolve issues with parts availability by changing purchase delivery dates, support plans, and/or order fulfillment sourcing
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results
  • Act as expert/training resource within the mill/plant for the materials management portion of SAP for MRP and Inventory Management including training less experienced personnel on established methods and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge in the incumbent’s area of expertise while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience
  • Supports an environment in which safety is a known value and leadership responsibilities for loss prevention and control are embraced
  • Helping maintain housekeeping including keeping all bins, aisles and storage areas clean and clearly labeled


Qualifications

  • Technical School or High School diploma/certificate or equivalent with additional equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of logistics, warehousing, spare parts management and SAP experience
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to utilize SAP systems and processes for ordering, receiving, storing and issuing parts and supplies. Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to learn/fully utilize
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. This position requires daily email, voicemail and direct communication with planners, vendors, stores clerks, etc. This role must be able to communicate to “inform, engage, and inspire” a wide variety of constituents
