Job description

Yoh presents an excellent long-term mRNA Process Analytics - Senior Research Associate opportunity with a trusted, long-term client located in Waltham, MA.
This position is part of a major pharmaceutical company, and requires a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field. Schedule is full-time M-F (7am-8am start time, 8 hour shift) and may require flexibility to work some evenings and overtime due to projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine analytical testing with a strong emphasis on UPLC to assess key quality attributes and characterize mRNA drug substance process development intermediates.
  • Support assay development and execute mRNA-based assays, including UPLC, ELISA, Capillary Electrophoresis, PCR, and enzymatic assays.
  • Manage priorities, plan experiments, conduct analyses, and communicate results to project teams.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives through the implementation of LIMS, ELN, sample testing request systems, and tools for data analysis and visualization.
  • Contribute to high throughput transformation initiatives by integrating automated workflows, advanced instrumentation (e.g liquid handling systems), and scalable data processing solutions.
  • Author laboratory standard operation procedures, prepare development reports and deliver presentations for cross-functional team meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and provide support to various functional groups as needed.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field with relevant background and experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
  • Analytical U/HPLC experience is essential.
  • Proven ability to follow SOPs and perform routine testing with accuracy and reproducibly.
  • Prior experience in mRNA analytics and process development is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques such as ELISA, qPCR, gel and capillary electrophoresis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and enzymatic assays.
  • Experience using chromatography data systems such as Chromeleon and Empower.
  • Hands on experience with high-throughput automation systems is a plus.
  • Experience with LC/MS (Q-TOF, QQQ) is a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Tableau, Power BI, RStudio is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, statistical data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and support cross-functional groups as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are a must.
