Job description

A MRI Technologist  performs radiologicalprocedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision. They also perform avariety of technical and imaging procedures that require independent judgment.Assumes responsibility for patient safety and image quality protocols. AssistPhysicians and Radiologists in special procedures.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of Radiologic program, which isaccredited by the Joint Review Committee for Radiology Technology Education(JRCRTE)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

  • Valid ARRT Licensure (RT.R,)

  • Perform M.I. procedures as ordered,including x-rays, fluoro's during MRI down time.
  • Responsible for scheduling and cost ofcontinuing education
  • Standby in surgery with C-arm duringslow MRI down time.
  • Utilize portable x-ray equipment asn
  • Perform procedures on inpatients,outpatients, and ER patients
  • Transport patients
  • Process films
  • Forward films to Radiologist and ERPhysician and discuss findings with physician, if needed
  • Assist with peer group interviews
  • Work your share of overtime when heavyworkload arises
  • Order and stock supplies
  • Handle equipment problems byinvestigation, calling repair service, notifying Tech Supr or Manager
  • Assist coworkers with transport andprocedures
  • Additional duties may be added to tech'sresponsibilities if and when the need arises
  • Be abreast of all P.I. projects andareas routinely monitored
  • Assist Tech Supr and Manager withprojects when needed
  • Attend department meetings, hospital in-services
  • Assists in departmental orientation tonew employees
  • Follow IMC Standards of Performance,Hospital Goals, Department Goals
