Research Technician (MRI Research) - University of Massachusetts Amherst

Location: Amherst, MA (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50-$60/hour

Schedule: Flexible Part-Time

Position Overview

In this role, you will support MRI-based research studies involving pediatric participants. The team is seeking an individual who can independently conduct imaging procedures, ensure study protocols are followed, and help advance important medical research initiatives.

The primary schedule consists of weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday), with candidates able to determine their availability each weekend. Additional hours may also be available on Mondays and Fridays for those seeking more consistent work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures for research study participants, including children
  • Ensure imaging protocols and study requirements are followed accurately
  • Prepare participants for imaging studies and monitor safety procedures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment as needed
  • Support research staff with data collection and study operations
  • Assist with implementation of new imaging techniques and technology improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with research protocols
  • Collaborate with investigators, research staff, and participants
QualificationsRequired
  • ARRT Certification
  • Experience performing MRI procedures
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
  • Ability to work independently in a research environment
Preferred
  • ARMRIT Certification
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Previous research or academic medical center experience
Schedule
  • Weekend availability required (Saturday & Sunday)

Pay and Benefits
