Job description

Expert MRI is a cutting-edge medical diagnostics company featuring the regionโ€™s foremost experts in neck/spine injury and general orthopedic imaging.

The physicians and staff at Expert MRI are among Californiaโ€™s most knowledgeable and experienced at diagnosing orthopedic and traumatic brain imaging. In addition to extensive MRI capabilities, we also use CT and X-ray to assist in properly diagnosing your patientโ€™s condition.

**Pay:$50-$62 per hour

**Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

We are currently looking for an CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team.

Our CT Technologist operates Computed Tomography imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the patientโ€™s body for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Interviews patient to explain computed tomography imaging procedures and ensures removal of those metal objects which can prevent successful imaging. Prevents others from entering the room when the CT machine is scanning.
  • Positions patient on examining table in the correct orientation and close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
  • Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
  • Performs phlebotomy as needed to safely inject contrast media as indicated and approved by hand and by automated pump. Skill with using both butterfly and angiocath.
  • Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of computed tomography imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer.
  • Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust parameters into computer.
  • Observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort and communicates regularly with patient to assure comfort and compliance.
  • Views images of area being scanned on video monitor to ensure quality of acquisition datasets.
  • Modify CT sequence parameters as needed to achieve optimal results
  • Moves dicom datasets to destinations and storage per policy and procedure
  • Alerts and controls access to anyone about to enter the CT room to the danger of entering a radiation emitting area. Acts as a gatekeeper to maintain a safe environment.
  • Stops scanning immediately if problems arise. Stops injecting immediately if problems arise.
  • Solves problems in real time and escalates when necessary for quality and patient safety.
  • Participates in the training of CT students in their clinical rotation as needed
  • Performs x-ray procedures as needed, following the requirements within the Xray Technologist job description.

Education/Certificates/Licenses:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic Life Support Certified by American Heart Association
  • Registered as an CT technologist by ARRT by passing the registry exam and qualifying for the position.
  • Hold required licensure by the State of California.
