Job description

Summary:

Landscaping of City properties including mowing, weed eating, trash and debris removal, hedge trimming and other duties as needed. This would require use of mowers, saws, and other related tools. Regular schedule - Mon-Fri 7am-4pm.  Schedule may vary to include weekends and holidays based on events, inclement weather or as operational demands require.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mows, trims, and edges assigned areas along roadsides and City owned property
  • Performs general park maintenance to play structures, pavilions, fencing, lighting, irrigation systems, restrooms, sidewalks, parking lots, playground equipment and concrete work
  • Removes ground litter before mowing from assigned area
  • Drives to work sites and ensure proper storage of equipment during transport
  • Completes daily paperwork including maintenance trac, equipment inspection forms, time/leave requests
  • Works special events as assigned
  • Follows the city policies, procedures and safety guidelines pertaining to the work area and equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with common landscaping equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in the general maintenance and/or landscaping

  • Valid driver’s license
