Computer Science - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Computer Science at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and student centered to teach in the following subject areas:

  • Web or Mobile Application Programming
  • Cybersecurity
  • Cloud Computing
  • High Performance Computing
  • Computer Graphics
  • Computer Networks
  • Machine Intelligence
  • Bioinformatics
  • Programming Languages and Compilers
  • Algorithms
  • Operating Systems
  • Software Engineering

This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified will be contacted when positions are available.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS degree in computer science or closely related field, or BS degree in computer science or closely related field with at least 2 years industry experience in computer science field, and demonstrable experience in the appropriate field.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to document their excellent academic preparation in computer science or closely related field along with current experience in industry
  • Proficiency in online teaching strategies
  • Candidates should have prior teaching experience at the university level
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
  • Preference will be given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities
