What is a move?

In a job context, 'Moves' typically refers to professionals responsible for organizing, planning, and overseeing the relocation of people, equipment, or office spaces. Move coordinators or move specialists work with clients to ensure that moves are completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule. Their duties may include coordinating with moving companies, managing logistics, and handling any issues that arise during the process. They play a crucial role in minimizing disruption and ensuring that all assets are accounted for throughout the move.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mover?

To thrive as a Mover, you need physical strength, stamina, and basic knowledge of packing and transportation safety, typically requiring a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and sometimes inventory management apps is beneficial. Excellent teamwork, customer service, and time management skills help Movers stand out when working with clients and colleagues. These skills ensure belongings are transported efficiently, securely, and with a positive customer experience.
