Function in the Job
Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.
Essential Duties
  • Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
  • Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
  • Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
  • Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
  • Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
  • Properly stencils shipping information as required.
  • Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills
EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.
