Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for controlling, documenting, and coordinating inventory movements to ensure inventory accuracy, traceability, and timely fulfillment of internal material requests. This position serves as a key link between Inventory, Receiving, and operational departments inside the lab.
Position Objective
Ensure accurate control, documentation, and distribution of inventory by managing internal material requests, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting efficient warehouse operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive and review Work Orders and material requests from all departments.
  • Verify that requests contain complete information (item number, description, quantity, department, and requester).
  • Record and track all inventory transactions in the designated inventory system or tracking sheet.
  • Confirm stock availability and coordinate inventory allocation.
  • Pick, stage, and distribute requested materials according to operational priorities.
  • Verify that quantities issued match approved requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements for audit and traceability purposes.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged materials.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items, recurring shortages, or process issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures and documentation standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow.
