About the Role

The Swamper plays a critical, frontline role in delivering a top-notch customer experience. You'll work alongside the Driver/Team Leader, executing brand standards on every job. This role demands a balanced combination of manual labour and people skills you're both a mover and a brand representative, putting clients at ease and delivering their best possible moving experience.

Pay Structure

  • Entry level (no experience): $18.15/hr
  • 3 years job experience: $20.15/hr
  • 5+ years job experience: $21.15/hr
  • +$1.00/hr premium for candidates with 3+ years of moving industry experience

Qualifications

  • Must consistently arrive on time and without delay for all scheduled shifts
  • Must be flexible regarding hours and days worked
  • Must be proficient in English (additional languages are an asset)

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry upwards of 80 lbs alone, repeatedly over several hours
  • Hold upwards of 100 lbs or more alone or with a partner while moving items
  • Reach overhead, crouch, squat, grasp, twist, and navigate the body to safely move items through tight spaces, hallways, doorways, stairwells, and elevators
  • Stand for several consecutive hours

Customer Service Responsibilities

  • Be in dress code at all times
  • Advise clients on best practices to safely move their items, including bubble wrapping and boxing glass, porcelain, and other fragile items
  • Provide materials to support safe transport and inform your Driver/Team Leader to track inventory and charge appropriately
  • Inform your Driver/Team Leader where advice or material costs are refused
  • Always use floor runners to protect the home and proper equipment to safely do the job
  • Completely pad all furniture with moving blankets, covering all sides including underneath
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload items and furniture with minimal to no damage
  • Direct clients to your Driver/Team Leader for any inquiries about delivery dates, weighting, or estimates
  • Conduct every move with a positive, gracious, can-do attitude
  • Know brand policies, procedures, services, and products to answer client questions
  • Pay attention to client cues and communicate so items are placed exactly where they want them
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Create and maintain an exceptional client experience through high execution, compassion, and regard for safety, property, and hustle
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle (cab and box)
  • Return all floor runners, tools, equipment, and materials properly and securely in the truck
