LEAPS Site Director for CMS and DMS
Reports To:
LEAPS project directors
Dept/School:
CMS and DMS
Employment:
Up to 3 hours a day for 160 days, LEAPS grant funded.
Calendar:
160 days
Salary Grade:
Hourly, based on grant.

Qualifications:
Current Dickson County Schools Employee, experience working with middle school students preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Enjoys working with students and builds positive relationships, dependable, organized, can manage multiple responsibilities, communicates well with students, staff, families, and administrators, can create a structured but engaging environment, comfortable addressing student behavior and taking initiative, team member who understands the importance of academic support, enrichment, and student engagement.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  1. Oversee the daily operation of the LEAPs program and ensure the program follows the approved schedule and requirements.
  2. Provide a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students during morning

and afternoon programming.
  1. Coordinate daily activities, including academic support, tutoring, enrichment, clubs, projects, and hands-on learning.
  2. Monitor student attendance, participation, arrival, and dismissal procedures.
  3. Coordinate LEAPs staff schedules, responsibilities, communication, and daily expectations.
  4. Support staff in planning activities that are purposeful, age-appropriate, and engaging.
  5. Communicate with school administrators, teachers, families, district LEAPs staff, and other partners as needed.
  6. Maintain required attendance, program, and other LEAPs documentation.
  7. Address student behavior and safety concerns appropriately and communicate concerns to school administration.

Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment, including a personal computer.
Posture:
Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and use of the mouse, occasional reaching.

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:
Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours
