Job description

Seasonal | Part-Time
Our Express Chairlift Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our main high-speed lift while delivering friendly, helpful service to every guest. During the summer and fall, this role is essential to providing a safe, memorable experience for scenic chairlift riders and downhill mountain bikers enjoying Jiminy Peak.
Position Details

  • Pay Rate: $15.75 per hour
  • Status: Hourly, part-time seasonal position reporting to the Mountain Adventure Supervisor/Manager.
  • Schedule: 11:30 am - 4:30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Season: Summer and Fall (typically running from early July through late October, weather dependent).
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Greet and assist guests with a friendly, professional approach. Direct scenic riders and mountain bikers into the proper positions for safe loading and unloading.
  • Assist mountain bikers in safely loading and unloading their downhill bikes using the chairlift's bike carrier systems.
  • Check tickets and wristbands to verify guest access. Demonstrate full knowledge of summer/fall ticket types.
  • Understand mechanical operations of the Express lift, monitor the lift's performance, and promptly communicate any operational issues to supervisors or mountain operations staff.
  • Maintain loading and unloading areas, ensuring they are clear of debris, safe, and easily accessible for both foot passengers and mountain bikers.
  • Communicate effectively with Ticketing, Mountain Bike Patrol, and Mountain Adventure staff to support smooth resort operations.
  • Accurately complete all required shift paperwork and perform related duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be reliable and available to work weekends and holidays during the summer and fall seasons.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in varying summer and autumn weather conditions.
  • Ability to regularly lift 35-45 pounds (to assist with handling and loading mountain bikes).
  • Strong communication skills, a guest-first attitude, and a focus on safety.
  • Willingness to assist other staff and departments as required or needed.
  • Comfortable lifting and handling mountain bikes to assist guests with loading.
  • Punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work well with a variety of people.
  • Must be able to deliver excellent customer service in all guest interactions.
