The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.
Job Description

The On-Site Subscriber Programming & Preventative Maintenance Specialist, must be based near Tampa, Florida, and will work on-site at customer locations in from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. While most travel will be local, less than 10% may involve travel to other US locations for training.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain highly technical Motorola APX Next portable and APX6500/8500 mobile radio subscribers, focusing on optimal performance and proactively addressing potential issues.

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance, including performance monitoring, to ensure system-wide efficiency.

  • Collaborate with customers to develop, manage, and implement custom programming and radio code-plugs for subscribers.

  • Program and provision subscriber radios using cloud-based tools such as RadioCentral, CommandCentral Mapping, CommandCentral Messaging, and SmartConnect.

  • Update subscriber information in the Motorola ASTRO Core Provisioning Manager, ensuring data accuracy and preventing duplication.

  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting for external radio defects or issues that can be resolved without opening the device.

  • Support Sierra Wireless XR80 Vehicular Modems by performing configuration updates and swapping units with customer-provided spares. All additional service for XR80 Modems will be handled by Sierra Wireless.

Preferred Candidate Experience:

  • Familiar with the latest technologies, troubleshooting techniques, and system architectures for current model Motorola digital and analog communications equipment.

  • Must have preventative maintenance experience with Motorola ASTRO subscribers.

  • Proficient in using Radio Management and all software for programming and developing subscriber code-plugs.

  • Experienced with P25 Systems, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems (such as LAN and WAN), networking equipment, IT networks, and subscriber equipment.

  • Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite applications.

  • Possesses strong self-management and interpersonal skills, enabling close collaboration with Motorola's customers, subcontractor partners, and Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Service teams.

  • Able to quickly solve customer problems in stressful situations.

  • Experienced in the configuration and testing of Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products.

Required Candidate Experience:

  • Must reside near Tampa, Florida

  • ETA certification required within 6 months of hire.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance(s) as required by government contract.

  • Possess a current, valid driver's license with no traffic violations.

  • CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA or equivalent preferred.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,00 USD

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by our government contracts.
