PowerTec Distribution & Motor Control Corporation has evolved into a leading service and equipment provider in the power distribution industry. We provide services to the mining, oil and gas, and utility companies.

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Assembly Technician to join our team in Arizona.

Position Summary

This position assists the Electrical department in the crafting, assembling, and repairing of electrical enclosures, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.

Essential Duties

  • Provides general entry level support to the Assembly department.
  • Work with busbar and electrical components used for electrical power distribution systems.
  • Assemble/join sheet metal components via fastening or riveting.
  • Torque connections for electrical power systems based upon design specifications.
  • Square up enclosures to ensure proper installation and sealing.
  • Ensure correct operation of mechanism by verifying mechanical operation and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven work experience in assembly or a similar role
  • Good eye-hand coordination for constructing small parts
  • Ability to work with mechanical systems, tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
  • Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma and one year of experience working on cars, motorcycles, or any other mechanically based equipment.
  • Desired Associate's degree in automotive or robotics.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures including over 100 degrees and under 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, warm surfaces, and cold surfaces.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, and lay prone for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel for up to five days a week.
  • Able to and comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear a respirator according to OSHA stands.
