Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
Responsible for the safe operation of a motor coach bus while transporting Weatherford College students and staff to and from events off campus. Responsible for other driving assignments as needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while driving a vehicle. Must be able to maneuver around vehicles to inspect them. Must be able lift 21 - 50 pounds in order to assist passengers entering and exiting the bus. Must possess Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement.
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Class A or B Texas Commercial Driver License with passenger endorsement required. Must be able to pass DOT required physical exams.
Required Experience
Experience driving large motor coach on inter-state & out of state trips. Experience driving large commercial passenger vehicles. Knowledge of applicable motor vehicle laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transports students, faculty, and other passengers to and from designated events using a motor coach passenger bus and other fleet vehicles.
  • Assists passengers with disabilities in boarding and exiting vehicles.
  • Plans routes for trips in advance, and adheres to necessary schedules and timetables.
  • Performs routine record-keeping activities such as inspection forms, route maps, surveys, log sheets, etc.
  • Communicates with passengers regarding delays or other issues while in transit.
  • Logs and reports incidents involving behavioral or safety concerns during trips.
  • May be required to drive out-of-state and on overnight excursions.
  • Performs other tasks as necessary or assigned.
