Job Title: Student Worker - Athletics Media Production Assistant

Pay Rate: $7.25-$10 per hour

Job Description:

In addition to live production responsibilities, students may have opportunities to create digital content by shooting and editing video, producing motion graphics, and developing content for social media and marketing initiatives.

Comprehensive training will be provided for all equipment, software, and production responsibilities.

Compensation is standardized and based on assigned responsibilities, demonstrated performance, and relevant experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with live broadcast and in-venue video productions for athletic events.
  • Operate broadcast and cinema-style cameras during live productions.
  • Serve in various production roles, including graphics, replay, technical directing, camera shading, audio, and production assistance.
  • Capture video and photography content for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.
  • Edit video content using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Create motion graphics and other visual content for digital and social media platforms.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of production equipment before and after events.
  • Support marketing, communications, branding, and creative services initiatives as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with full-time staff and fellow student crew members while demonstrating initiative and professionalism.
  • Follow production workflows from concept development through shooting, editing, delivery, and archiving.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance for assigned events, office hours, and production assignments.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required by athletic event schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may occasionally include travel.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and transport 25-50 pounds of production equipment.
  • Interest in live sports production, broadcasting, video production, photography, or digital media.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new production technologies and techniques.
