Newfangled Studios | Remote, Boston, Massachusetts

The Role

Newfangled Studios is a Creative Production Agency crafting social-first, digitally native campaigns for some of the world's most celebrated brands. We're searching for an enthusiastic Junior Motion Designer to help animate on big campaigns for even bigger brands. As a member of our animation team, you'll be working closely with our artists and directors to create world-class video and animation. Most importantly, you'll help us do work that delivers on the four points of the Newfangled North Star; Creativity and Innovation, Business Results, Respect & Inclusion, and Forward Progress.

About You:
  • You have a solid understanding of After Effects, particularly for motion graphics animation.
  • You're someone who wants to grow and learn, with a passion for their creative craft.
  • You demonstrate an understanding of animation principles and have a strong sense of timing.
  • You're an organized and detail-oriented artist.
  • You can observe and replicate established animation styles with a director's assistance.
  • You receive feedback through a lens of curiosity and constructive criticism.
  • You are a creative collaborator, able to work in a team environment to achieve goals.
  • You have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • You are someone who has at least a year of working experience within the motion graphics industry.
  • You're legally eligible for work in the United States or Canada.
What You'll Do
  • Animate short-form content for larger campaigns, such as Instagram stories, or Snapchat ads.
  • Retime, reformat, and version existing assets for various social media platforms.
  • Work closely with designers and directors to bring storyboards to life through animation.
  • Deliver work on time and according to schedule, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Assist in larger animation projects as support for Senior Animators.
  • Implement feedback from internal and external shareholders.
  • Keep projects clean, organized, and easy to navigate for other animators.
