Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift: Days & Nights – 12-Hour Shifts, 3×12

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby for a 17-week travel contract. The ideal candidate will have strong current Mother Baby/Postpartum experience and be comfortable providing care to postpartum mothers and newborns.

The RN will provide comprehensive couplet care, support patients recovering from gynecological procedures, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns.
  • Perform couplet care for mothers and newborns.
  • Provide nursing care to patients recovering from hysterectomy procedures.
  • Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and promptly report changes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to orders and facility protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic patient documentation.
  • Provide education and emotional support to mothers and families.
  • Assist with newborn and postpartum care and routine assessments.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Float to Labor & Delivery or other appropriate units as a sitter/task RN when required.
  • Follow patient-safety, infection-control, and facility policies.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.
Requirements
  • Current, active RN license.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent/current Mother Baby experience.
  • Experience with couplet care required.
  • Experience caring for hysterectomy patients required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current Advanced NRP certification.
  • Strong postpartum and newborn assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Flexibility to float to Labor & Delivery or other units as needed.
Additional Requirements
  • Candidate must reside 100+ miles from the facility.
  • Current, non-expired driver’s license required.
  • Weekend rotation required.
  • Holiday rotation required.
  • NURSYS verification required.
