The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time DEMAND PROGRAM SPECIALIST (Demand Forecast Planner), NH-0301-03, to work at the Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) in the Ogden Air Logistics Complex (OO-ALC) with 309 CMXG at HILL AIR FORCE BASE located in LAYTON, UT. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Demand Program Specialist within the Preproduction Section, this position is responsible for pre-planning the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and modification of complex weapon systems and associated assets, encompassing long-range, mid-range, and short-term perspectives. This planning includes aircraft, exchangeables, engines, missiles, and other major end items. Success in this role is crucial for maintaining accurate material forecasts and ensuring parts availability, which are essential to the successful execution of the Air Force mission.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This may be a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts.
- The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.
- The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial Locations for both training and mission accomplishment.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
2. Knowledge in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications related to Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts requirements, with the ability to gather, analyze, and present supporting data and apply relevant regulations for material management.
3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
4. Knowledge of the operations, services, needs, and goals of management and their program(s); the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users.
5. Ability to plan, organize work, meet deadlines, and adjust work objectives to meet emergencies or changing programs within available resources and with minimum sacrifice and quality or quantity of work; ability to establish performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement and ability to communicated effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Knowledge of current automation technology and practices sufficient to evaluate the effectiveness of its use and provide assistance to others.
7. Ability to independently plan, coordinate and organize work to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
