As a Labourer at Drax, you will support the efficient operation of our pellet production systems by performing a variety of construction, repair, installation, and maintenance activities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance while contributing to continuous improvement and quality control initiatives.

Your Day-to-Day as a Labourer. You’ll be:

  •  Responsible for performing a variety of construction, repair, installation, and maintenance activities that support Drax’s pellet production systems.
  • Operate various equipment and tools related to maintenance and rail activities.
  • Maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations and corporate policies.
  • Perform cleaning tasks according to daily, weekly, or monthly schedules, or as assigned by the Plant Manager or their designate.
  • Assist in the safe and efficient loading of rail cars.
  • Help with loading pellets and complete the necessary administrative tasks for shipping pelletized products.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality control initiatives.
  • Operate mobile equipment as assigned.
  • Report any safety incidents or infractions.
  • Assist maintenance staff or complete basic maintenance tasks when the plant is down, either independently or under the guidance of maintenance personnel.

What you’ll bring:

To excel in this vital role, you’ll need:

  •  Experience in the heavy equipment industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent?
  • Experience operating mobile equipment safely and efficiently
