About the Role:
Montessori School of Chevy Chase Inc is looking for a passionate and nurturing French Speaking Montessori School Assistant to join our dedicated team in Washington, DC. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire young minds in a bilingual, child-centered learning environment where creativity and independence are celebrated every day.

Major Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Support the lead Montessori teachers 
  • Communicate with students in French 
  • Guide and supervise children during recess and transitions
  • Prepare and maintain Montessori learning materials and classroom environment
  • Observe and document individual student progress and developmental milestones
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff through clear communication
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere
  • Take children to the bathroom and change diapers when necessary
Requirements:
  • Fluency in both French 
  • Prior experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and teaching methods 
  • Montessori certification is a plus
  • Must have a college degree or a CDA
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with children
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and DC compliance requirements
  • Must be on time every day
