Montessori In information

How does a Montessori instructor typically collaborate with parents and other educators to support student development?

Montessori instructors work closely with parents through regular conferences, progress reports, and open communication to ensure consistency between classroom and home environments. They also collaborate with fellow educators, sharing observations and strategies to address each child’s unique learning needs. This teamwork fosters a supportive community and helps create individualized learning plans, ensuring every child receives the guidance they need to thrive.

What are Montessori Instructors?

Montessori Instructors are educators trained in the Montessori teaching method, which emphasizes child-led learning, hands-on activities, and fostering independence in students. They create a prepared environment where children can explore and learn at their own pace, often working with mixed-age groups. Montessori Instructors observe students closely, guide them to appropriate materials, and support their individual developmental needs rather than following a traditional curriculum. Their role is to facilitate learning rather than direct it, encouraging curiosity, self-motivation, and respect for others.

Job description

Our Montessori school has been proudly serving our community for many years. With trained, dedicated educators (some with decades of experience), we provide an authentic Montessori experience in an early education setting. With mixed-age classrooms and carefully curated Montessori materials, we embrace the authentic Montessori Method, as we guide young learners toward the future, so they become innovative thinkers, good citizens, and able leaders.

Leading a classroom takes a special kind of skill.

As a Lead Teacher, you are:

  • Caring! Follow all licensing guidelines, school, and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
  • Engaging! Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families.
  • Learning! Complete ongoing professional development on Montessori pedagogy and early childhood development topics.
  • Inspiring! Implement the Montessori curriculum (with assistance of the Director, a School Education Manager, Team Lead, or faculty mentor) and facilitate engaging interactive learning experiences.

We want joyful, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have:

  • Experience in a licensed child care center, Montessori school, or related field; previous lead teacher experience preferred.
  • Completed a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree and coursework in early childhood education preferred.
  • Met state requirements for education; additional school requirements may apply.

Your neighborhood Montessori school is supported by Montessori Unlimited, a nationwide network of authentic Montessori schools. As part of Learning Care—a community of inspired, bold, dedicated individuals—we invite you to be a difference maker. Here, you’ll find a dynamic environment and culture that is open, friendly, welcoming, and collaborative. Are you ready to make a strong, lasting, positive impact on children?
