(Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase)
NOTE: WILL WORK WITH ADMINISTRATION AND OFFICE STAFF TO MAINTAIN CAMPUS SECURITY BY ASSISTING STUDENTS IN GETTING TO CLASS, MONITORING INDOOR AND OUTDOOR AREAS, MONITORING ENTRY DOORBELLS AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED, AND HELPING IMPROVE STUDENT ATTENDANCE.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under direct supervision of the Principal or Assistant Principal, the School Campus Monitor is responsible for providing assistance in maintaining a safe and secure school environment. Patrols school corridors, locker rooms, restrooms, assembly and athletic facilities, gymnasiums, bus loading areas, school grounds, etc. Monitors buildings and grounds for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities. Investigates incidents, notifies school administrators of situations, activities, and/or threats of harm to students on or near school property. Diffuses threatening situations/confrontations in a positive and constructive manner and intervenes appropriately in situations likely to result in disruption or injury.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1.High School diploma or equivalent.
2.Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY:
1. Effective computer technology skills. CCTV experience preferred.
2. Effective problem solving, organizational, multi-tasking, judgment and time management skills.
3. Demonstrated competence in reading, writing, and basic math.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of basic first-aid. CPR training preferred.
7. Ability to work with disruptive or non-cooperative students.
8. Ability to maintain control in stressful situations.
