Bus Monitor

Pay Range per hour $18.53 – $18.53

Position Summary:

The Bus Monitor is responsible for working as a team member with the Bus Driver to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of Program Children.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure children are in age/weight appropriate child restraint system.
  • Assist children with loading and unloading from bus.
  • Ensure children are released only to authorized individuals.
  • In conjunction with driver, maintain route copy and assist substitute driver.
  • Maintain backpack for respective route, medication log, name tags, seating chart, Child Plus forms.
  • Engage children with age-appropriate activities, i.e. songs, games, music.
  • Along with Bus Driver, maintain cleanliness of equipment and vehicle.
  • Follow Transportation policies and procedures as outlined.

The duties listed above are representative of the work performed. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS or equivalent
  • Evidence of MMR
  • Ability to pass CORI/DCF background which includes fingerprinting prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of child monitoring experience
  • Bilingual Skills a plus
