Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Tree Climber to join the Piscataqua Landscaping & Tree Service team! As a Tree Climber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our tree crew operations. Duties include reporting to the foreman, safely and efficiently climbing various species of trees whenever necessary, assisting arborists, collecting and piling branches, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring hazard-free work areas. Candidates should be able to work with a variety of crew members, in all weather conditions.
Requirements
  • Maintains a consistent and positive attendance pattern and attitude
  • Operates all maintenance equipment (truck, chipper and chainsaw)
  • Tracks and records their labor and equipment hours as well as material on a daily basis
  • Conducts daily equipment checks and maintenance
  • Serves as a resource to clients for any questions regarding work being performed or future work in the absence of the crew leader
  • Ensures clients doors, tills, and windows are closed before performing any tree work
  • Responsible for equipment in work zone of climber/bucket operator (ex: saws, chairs, people, pets, cars, etc.
  • Always observe the overall condition of the properties and report to the lead any problems or concerns encountered
  • Works as a member of a team at all times
  • Follows the direction of the lead on the job site
  • Manages lowering and felling of limbs and trees and chipping
  • Consistently wears proper and required PPE
  • Operate &fac34; ton truck

Additional Duties
  • Involvement with snow removal during winter hours in whatever capacity required
  • Keeps busy and productive at all times
  • Ensures that all equipment in vehicles is secured properly during transport
  • Additional duties as assigned

Certificates & Licenses
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in climbing, rigging and with hazard tree removals are a must. Must have experience in the tree industry or similar industry. Must have experience with chainsaws.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Understanding and speaking Spanish is helpful.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
