Job description

Operating Room Nursing Assistant

An individual who performs various patient care activities based on age and functional status, and related non-professional services in the Operating Rooms. This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Follows approved/established techniques and procedures related to asepsis, infection control and safety.
  • Performs all duties and tasks of an Operating Room Nursing Assistant, including room setup, transportation of patients, equipment retrieval, and room turnover.
  • Performs between-case clean up in assigned OR's, including surface cleaning, floor cleaning, tables, etc.
  • Hold retractors during procedures, once placed and positioned by the Physician and/or RNFA, while maintaining the sterile field.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Job Description:

Degree/Diploma: Basic cardiac life support (BLS) certification and High school diploma required. Minimum of one year experience in an acute care inpatient environment preferred.
