Job description

Do you have experience working in a manufacturing warehouse and enjoy being part of a team? Western States is seeking a Warehouse Team Member to join our Butler, WI facility, just minutes from Milwaukee.
In this role, you'll use industrial equipment such as pallet jacks, rider pallet trucks, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and roll grabs to move materials throughout the plant and warehouse. Responsibilities include receiving and storing materials, pulling FTL and LTL orders, unloading trucks, and maintaining inventory.
The ideal candidate has previous warehouse shipping and receiving experience, is comfortable operating powered industrial trucks, and has experience using warehouse inventory software, data entry, shipping programs (FedEx/UPS), and printing shipping labels.

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Drives the Walkie, Rider Pallet, Reach Truck, Sit Down Rider, Yale, or Roll Grab to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer
  • Communicate with co-workers and others to carry out job duties.

SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS
  • Proven experience in a Warehouse, Shipping and/or Receiving role in a MANUFACTURING environment.
  • 1-2yr computer knowledge
  • Strong organizational and memory skills
  • Prior power industrial truck experience in a production environment.
  • Proficient using shipping software and inventory systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capable of maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and locations within the warehouse.
  • Effectively read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Competent with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, as well as dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to walk and stand frequently during an eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Physical Demands: stand, bend, reach, crouch for 8-hour shift and frequently lift up to 30lbs and up to 50lbs occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent climbing, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stop. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, neat and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
