Position Summary: As a member of the St. John’s Protective Services Team, The Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors and employee. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Also does checks to ensure safety of facility and grounds. Responsibilities include:

  • Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer.
  • Performs Patrols of Campus.
  • Answer Calls for Service.
  • Investigates complaints.
  • Respond to medical and fire alarms.
  • Prepare Logs and Reports.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1-year relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
  • Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred.
  • NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
