THE POSITION

The Continuity or Operations Planning (COOP), Safety and Facilities Manager position with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen emergency readiness and workplace safety. This role supports important operations that keep employees safe and facilities running smoothly. You will lead efforts that help the agency stay prepared and organized. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees continuity planning, workplace safety, facility operations, records management, and fleet coordination for the PA Insurance Department. It requires strong organization, attention to detail, and clear communication across multiple programs. As a COOP, Safety and Facilities Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • COOP Oversight: Develop and update continuity plans, coordinate training, and manage agency readiness activities
  • Safety Coordination: Conduct inspections, maintain evacuation plans, support emergency teams, and guide staff safety efforts
  • Facilities Support: Manage repairs, furniture needs, vendor relationships, and facility operations across multiple locations
  • Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle assignments, monitor usage and records, coordinate maintenance, and ensure compliance with automotive policies
  • Records Management: Guide staff in record retention, conduct process reviews, and maintain compliance with recordkeeping requirements
  • Risk Assessment: Assist leadership in identifying risks, tracking mitigation efforts, and reporting on improvement activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
