Job description

Job Title:   Setup Technician

Department:   Injection Molding

Accountability:  This position reports to the Production Supervisor

Responsibilities:                

  • Setup all scheduled machines in an efficient and economical manner per requirement
  • Follow proper mold installation procedures
  • Ensure that water lines are connected
  • Check for proper water flow through the mold
  • Start up and process mold according molding data sheet
  • Wipe molds, blow out water lines, and spray with protectant upon removal
  • Store molds in proper location
  • Mark molds for maintenance, repair and storage
  • Keep mold bases and mold base accessories clean and organized
  • Work with Maintenance to   insure machines are in optimal condition to eliminate unnecessary down time

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree in Plastic Molding Injection, or other related field, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of experience in an injection molding environment as a Setup Technician, preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Able to read and understand work instructions
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus
