PRINTER OPERATORS NEEDED

NEWLY BUILT MANUFACTURING PLANT

Tekni-Plex Consumer Products Division – Van Wert, OH 

(Manufacturer of molded pulp consumer products)

SUMMARY

Proficient in the understanding of molded fiber manufacturing equipment with a thorough knowledge of the operation.  Trains and mentors department employees in the safe set-up, operation, adjustment and maintenance of production equipment.  May be expected to fill in during the absence of the Shift Supervisor.  Able to direct work activities, schedule employees, prepare necessary documentation. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitors departmental personnel in the safe set-up, operation and maintenance of machinery.
  • Assists supervisor in directing daily activities to promote and maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and makes appropriate machine repairs/adjustments when qualified to do so.
  • Coordinates activity between various shifts to ensure smooth transition of duties.
  • Performs quality inspections on pulping, molding, pressing and printing operations.
  • Monitors production output, assists in the scheduling of employees.
  • Assists in employee evaluation and the proper completion of performance reviews.
  • Reviews machine output against production demands and researches ways to improve productivity. Reviews and ensures that all SQF data and production reports are complete.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment. Reviews Job Hazard Analysis with employees upon hire, new lines, annually.
  • Remains compliant with SQF requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily 
  • Demonstrated leadership.
