Medical Assistant โ Mohs Surgery & Reconstruction

Support exceptional patient care in a specialized surgical setting.
Raleigh Medical Group, PA is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Mohs Specialty clinical team in Raleigh.ย This role supports providers and patients throughout the surgicalย care process, helping ensure a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for examinations and Mohs surgical procedures.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Assist providers during procedures, including maintaining sterile fields.
- Perform wound care and apply post-procedure dressings and bandages.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician.
- Collect, label, and prepare laboratory and pathology specimens.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment.
- Ensure exam and procedure rooms are fully stocked and prepared.
- Document patient care, procedures, and results accurately in the EMR.
- Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, referrals, and patient follow-up as directed
- Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions and education
- Respond to non-emergent patient questions under provider guidance
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and safety standards
- Support a positive, patient-centered experience throughout the visit
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired:
- ย ย ย High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience
- Strong computer and documentation skills
Preferred:
ย
- Medical Assistant certification
- Dermatology, surgical, or procedural experience
- Experience with EMR systems.
