Job description

Southern Cross has immediate openings forEntry-Level Field Technician (Gas Module Exchange)You will be responsible for the replacement of gas modules to include driving daily as required by assigned geographic areas. You will also be expected to process the required data accurately and meet all required completion dates. We will provide step-by-step training to ensure you are comfortable with the process and have a solid understanding of work expectations.Location of work will vary around the Portland and Salem areas.

  • New candidateswill need to commute approximately2 weeksduring the training period to the Warehouse location at18300 SW Boones Ferry Rd, Portland, OR 97224
  • After training is completed information will be given on reporting location for needed supplies and company vehicle pick up areas.
  • Company vehicle is daily use (pick up/drop off.)

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage daily assigned tasks for safety, quality, and efficiency to exceed customer expectations
  • Schedule and plan work efficiently
  • Follow all safety rules, organizational policies, and procedures
  • Keep Operator Qualifications current
  • Interact with the public, client's customers, and client's personnel professionally, respectfully, and cordially
  • Accurately complete task reports and work-related reports in a timely manner
  • Protect, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment and vehicle

Education and Experience:

  • Technical aptitude and past/former technical training are a plus
  • Computer or Smart Phone literate
  • Able to read maps and navigate congested areas in large cities
  • Adept at using hand tools and equipment

Requirements:

  • Pass all Operator Qualification training/testing pertaining to meter work/meter reading to proceed with employment
  • Primary speaking language should beEnglish
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required to pass background check and drug screening prior to hire
  • Must have a good driving record and hold a valid driver's license
  • Must be able/willing to travel locally (Possible overnight travel on occasion)
  • Physically able to bend, squat and move heavy objects; use a pipe wrench/other hand tools; lift and reach overhead
