Job description

Introduction
At AT&T, we are shaping the future of broadband connectivity through innovative device platforms that power fiber, fixed wireless, and converged customer experiences. As a Principal Product Development Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for transforming strategic business objectives into market-leading broadband device solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences across consumer and enterprise markets.
You will support end-to-end technical program delivery for wireless Android and IoT device platforms spanning hardware, software, cloud integration, security, validation, manufacturing, and launch readiness. Working across product, engineering, operations, finance, care, compliance, and external partners, you will drive delivery of complex programs from concept through commercialization while balancing performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. You will provide technical leadership, influence executive decisions through data-driven recommendations, establish engineering standards, and mentor teams across multiple programs.
What you'll do
  • Support partner coordination for Android and IoT device certification, onboarding, technical approvals, and launch readiness.
  • Work with OEMs, internal engineering teams, labs, and business stakeholders to align requirements, timelines, testing scope, and deliverables.
  • Track certification activities, manage risks/issues, coordinate defect triage, and help drive timely resolution through Technical Acceptance.
  • Review device certification artifacts and support readiness activities across initial releases, maintenance releases, and partner submissions.
  • Help improve certification workflows by identifying process gaps, supporting automation, and contributing to AI-enabled/self-service certification initiatives.
  • Build technical depth in wireless device technologies, Android device software, IoT modules/devices, LTE/5G capabilities, and AT&T certification processes.

What you'll need
  • Foundational understanding of wireless communication concepts, including LTE/5G, Android devices, IoT modules/devices, or related mobile technologies.
  • Ability to coordinate technical work across multiple stakeholders, including OEM partners, internal teams, labs, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to track issues, organize deliverables, and drive follow-up to closure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize status, risks, issues, and decisions for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interest in learning AT&T device certification, Technical Acceptance, partner onboarding, and wireless delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with tools used for requirements, issue tracking, project coordination, or reporting, such as Jira, Azure DevOps, dashboards, or similar platforms.
