FLSA Status: Exempt

RESPONSIBILITY:

The overall responsibility of the CCS Superintendent is to assist the Project Manager in the execution of projects. The ultimate goal is the successful completion of projects on time, with exceptional quality, and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Take direction from the Project Manager for the execution of daily tasks.
  • Assist in managing the flow of materials from suppliers and within the job site. Make sure materials arrive at the job site on time, are of the proper type and quantity, and are staged in their proper location.
  • Assist in directing subcontractors in their daily work and maintaining a look-ahead schedule.
  • Review and inspect the quality of work from Champion's factories and work performed by Champion's subcontractors.
  • Create punch lists and coordinate the completion/resolution of punch lists with subcontractors.
  • Assist in the coordination and resolution of warranty work from Champion's factory and subcontractors.
  • The superintendent may perform minor warranty work and must be experienced in manufactured home production/repair.
  • Assist in maintaining job site work logs to include daily reports, look-ahead schedules, safety documentation, etc.
  • Perform safety inspections in accordance with Champion's safety plan.
  • Assist with or perform routine toolbox talks with all job site trades.
  • Travel throughout the region to oversee various job sites.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Project Manager.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Computer experience should include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Preference shown to candidates with knowledge of local building codes to include (but not limited to) 2009 IRC, UPC, IMC, and 2011 NEC.
  • 5 years of construction experience including residential construction and directing work crews or similar experience.
  • Must have a reasonable knowledge of OSHA requirements and understand the required PPE for various tasks.
  • Must be able to read drawing prints.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record background check. DOT knowledge is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to perform physical work, lift tools and materials, and perform physical-related construction work.
